Rainout Policy & Procedures

Clubs

Goalline has the ability to declare a game a "rain-out". Clubs have all been given a "club manager" account with the ability to rain-out a game for any of their club teams.
Declaring a game as a rain-out will also notify referees (on the Referee Goalline website) and the HSL website schedule will show the change. This will still require teams to be proactive and check the website before game time to confirm if games are still on. Read on below for more details.

Rain Out Procedures

The decision to declare any games a “rain-out” shall be made by the CLUB. Once a decision is made to declare a rain-out, a club representative must immediately:
  1. Update the game status to “rain-out” using procedures outlined below
  2. Contact the HSL League Coordinator to let the league know about the rain-out(s).

The steps to change a game to a rain-out are:
  1. Log in to HSL Goalline website (www.highlandsoccer.ca) with club manager account
  2. Choose the 'team' from the menu found in top right
  3. Choose the 'Statistics' tab
  4. Choose "2014 - Regular Season Schedule" on next screen that appears
  5. The Schedule is now displayed. Click on the "Rainout Multiple Games" button (it will then change to "Rainout Checked Games" and display check boxes next to each game)
  6. Check the box(es) for any game that is being rained out
  7. Click on "Rainout Checked Games" to save changes.
  8. You will be asked to confirm this to finish the rainout process

HSL Team Officials should always check the status of their upcoming games to insure they do not unnecessarily travel to a game that may have been declared a rain-out.

Referees

When rain-outs are properly recorded in Goalline in the HSL website, they will also show up on Referees Goalline site as rain-outs
Game officials should always check here before travelling to any game they are assigned to. If the game is still there and is not showing as a rain-out, then game officials are eligible for referee fees for that game whether it is played or not.
