Playoffs-Formats Playoffs-General Info Playoffs-Schedule

There are a number of important items that the League wants to make sure all teams are aware of in relation to HSL Playoffs.

PLAYOFF SCHEDULE – The playoff schedule is set up as a different ‘season’ in Goalline. Teams will be able to find the schedules on the HSL site in the same way they found regular season games.
The schedules are set by the LEAGUE. There is no flexibility for rescheduling given the number of games to be played, the number of available days and the limited fields. Schedules are initially set up to provide teams with at least 1 day off between games.

TEAM AVAILABILITY – As per HSL policy, teams are expected to be available to play games ANY DAY during the playoff week.

TEAM ROSTER – Teams can only play players that are on the official tEam roster - no call-ups are permitted during playoffs

DECLARING WINNERS – All games will need a winner declared. If score it tied at end of regulation 2 equal extra time halves are played:
    Under 13 - 2 x 10 minutes
    Under 15 and up - 2 x 15 minutes
If score is still tied after extra time, a penalty shootout will be used to determine the winner.

GAME SHEETS – HOME Team officials should retrieve/print game sheets from the HSL Website and take it to the field, in the same manner as regular season.

GAME REPORTING – Games are to be reported by sending the game sheet to the HSL in the same manner as regular season.
     - GAME SHEETS MUST BE SENT IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE GAME (same day – do NOT wait until the next morning)
     - The WINNING team must send in the game sheet.
     - Teams do NOT need to update the results on the website – the League will update results as soon as the game sheets are received.

REFEREES – All games should have 3 officials. If there are not 3 officials present for the game, teams have the option to:
     a. Play the game with less officials or using club linespersons – if this occurs, there shall be no appeal after the game
     b. Cancel the game – the League will reschedule the game.

REFEREE PAYMENT – The HOME TEAM is responsible to pay playoff referee costs. Teams are expected to pay game officials in the same manner as regular season.

RESCHEDULING – in the event that weather creates a situation where a game cannot be played, the LEAGUE will be responsible for rescheduling the game. The rescheduled date will normally be the NEXT DAY (even if means teams need to play 2 days in a row).
* this is one of the reasons that teams/players need to be available to play any day of playoff week regardless of original playoff scheduling!

MEDALS – There will be no medals presented for th 2018 Summer season (budget constraints).

PROVINCIALS – The winner of HSL playoffs shall be the Highland representative at Soccer NS Provincials held on various weekends starting the 3rd weekend in August. All Provincials schedules/information can be found on a Soccer NS Goalline site - http://snsprovincials.ca/
